There is one thing I learned today from our adventure...we will never live where it's cold and snowy all winter! I signed the girls up for some sledding fun today. Since we never get snow, this weekend the town where we live turned one of the local parks into a sledding hill. The idea sounded great. That is until it was 25 degrees, no sun, and the wind chill...below freezing!!!
The girls were bundled up and ready to go!
Since we never get snow here, we've had these sleds for a while waiting to put them to good use. Well, you see the tube the girls are sitting on...it made it down the hill one time, and it popped! Yep, Bart and Teagan went down the hill, and who knows if it was the heavy load, or the rocks, or the ice...but it didn't last.
Then it comes to the pink slide. Taya and I went down first. Besides being absolutely freezing cold and ice chunks blowing in our faces, the back of the sled ripped off from all of the rocks on the hill.
But none of that stopped Taya...she went over and over and over again! (If you look closely, she even has that darn owl in her hand.)
Teagan tried one more time with Taya.
As you can see from the video above, one of the toughest parts of this adventure was dodging all of the people sledding and running right into you! Also watch again, and you'll see the back of the pink sled break off even more.
While Taya continued to sled ride until her pink sled was torn to pieces, Teagan and I sat in the nice warm car.
