Back to that Fabulous Day

We were invited back to where we tied the knot to celebrate the Highgrove Estate's 10 year Anniversary.  I fell in love with the Highgrove the minute I saw it more than 5 years ago, and to got back to where Bart and I said our "I Do's" was so magical.
It was a beautiful evening...blue skies...comfortable temperature...just like I envisioned our special day. (For those of you that were at our wedding know that is not the weather we had!)
Were we had our first kiss as husband and wife!
They have made so many wonderful additions in the last 5 years since we had our wedding there.  This is where they hold the cocktail hour now.
The beautiful tent where we had our reception has been transformed into a permanent building with heat and air conditioning.
I thought it was beautiful for our wedding, but the changes they have made has made it even more spectacular.
On our wedding night, we didn't get to enjoy much of the food as we had so much fun celebrating.  This time we indulged in it all...and it was sooooo delicious!
What was even more amazing....despite them having hundreds of wedding there since we got married on April 5th 2008, we were shocked to see our picture used on their 2013 advertising flyer!  WOW...can you believe that is Bart and I!!!

Daddy & Taya Day

Bart spent some quality time with Taya.  They went to a workshop at Lowe's.

The project was building a Toy Story race car!

One of our neighbors got a new water toy!
 Taya went on it over..
 and over...
 and over again!
Dad, does this bring back memories?

Day at the Museum

Daddy has been away for a week, and he is still gone so my goal right now is to exhaust the kids each day so bedtime is easy.  On Saturday, we headed to the Durham Museum of Life and Science.  First up, the animals.
 Then, a train ride.
I can't believe a picture of the three of us actually turned out!
Plus a bonus one!
Choo Choo
 Next up, the dinosaur trail.
 Can you spot the dinosaurs?
At the end of the trail, a dino dig.
Both girls could have dug for hours.
Taya really enjoyed this.  She would put a magnetic seedling on the yellow belt, and it would climb all the way to the top and then fly off.
She was not letting anyone catch her seedling!
 Time to drive the sailboats.
It was fun watching her try to catch all of the other sailors.
 Mist time!
 Taya was not a problem....
but at times I would get nervous as...
Teagan would get lost in the mist.
It would be so cute, because I wouldn't be able to see Teagan, but I could hear Taya say, "Watch out for my little sister."  It's hard to tell in this picture, but Taya is actually grabbing Teagan's hand to make sure she is OK.
 There's Teagan...
and then she goes back in for more.
 Queen of the rock!
There is a cool butterfly house with lots of butterflies flying all around you.
They just released 1,000 Blue Morpho butterflies which were so pretty to see.
Time to make some music!
 It was LOUD!
Then, we headed inside the museum, and Teagan sat at the bottom of this ball pit for an hour collecting every ball that came down the tube.
They played here for a long time.
They tired to build something creative...
but then this parent had to show us all up when he made a car for his kid to sit on.  Poor Taya just wanted to know why I couldn't make that for her!
One last cool thing to check out.  By this point, I was so exhausted I was ready for bed!

Guess Who Got a Haircut

I have only gotten Taya's hair cut once as she tells me she wants to have hair like Rapunzel.   It was getting a little shaggy, so I convinced her to get it trimmed.  Of course, she had to sit on my lap while getting it cut.

 She enjoyed the haircut.
The lady even put pink glitter in her hair.
I had no plans to get Teagan's haircut, but while Taya was getting her haircut, Tegan kept pulling at her hair.  I asked her if she wanted a haircut, and she climbed into the chair.
So she got her 1st haircut!
 She sat all by herself.
Between eating a lollipop and cookies, she was happy.
She even let the woman dry her hair.
Plus put a blue bow in it.
The girls really liked this place as after they got their haircuts, they got a prize!
They wanted to go out to eat...so we headed to Chick-fil-A
 My girl with an attitude.
The best way to end the day...ice cream!
