She Did It!

My gym has an awesome climbing wall.  Taya always says she wants to climb it, but when it comes time to getting in the harness she would always freak out.  Tonight, she finally conquered her fear, and she did it!
She said she's ready to climb to the top!

A New Adventure

Going out to dinner with our kids is always crazy as none of them sit still.  We thought going to a Japanese Steakhouse where they cook in front of you might entertain the kids, meaning we could actually enjoy our meal!
They were pretty impressed with the chop sticks.
Then, the guy who cooks the food said, "Are you all OK with fire?"  Of course we all said, "Yes."
Guess the fire was not a good idea!  Once they calmed down...
it was back to a fun adventure!
I was so impressed with Taya.  She did not use her fork, dove right in with the chop sticks.
Yes Grammy and Grampy...thanks to you guys, my Taya now requests Filet Mignon!
It was a lot of fun, and Bart and I actually did get to enjoy our meal.
Next time, no fire!

Joys of Mommyhood!

Bart just left for a long work trip, and it's just me and the girls.  Shortly after he left, I got the girls in the car and headed to the gym.  My car started dinging letting me know I had a flat tire!  So at 5:50pm (10 minutes before the tire place closed)  we arrived with desperate looks hoping they would fix my tire.  Taya wanted to know why daddy let all the air out of the tire before he left town, and if we would have to walk home!
As I was taking a picture of Taya, Teagan spilled an entire bottle of orange juice on her that she insisted she could hold by herself.  Off went her shirt/pants/even socks, and on went mommy's sweatshirt.
She thought it was pretty funny.
After I got Teagan cleaned up, I turned around to find Taya reading this!
After 20 LONG minutes of my kids acting CRAZY at the tire place, our car was done and I apologized to the manager for my wild kids.  He said no worries, I have 7 kids, and you're 2 remind me of my 7!
It was now way past the kids dinner time, and Taya insisted we stop for pizza.  This picture is a blur because my kids are a blur.  They entertained the entire restaurant and not in a good way!  One lady asked me if they always had this much energy.  That was her nice way of saying, "Are they always this crazy?"

We Helped Build a Playground

Saturday was a day of giving back.  The news station where I work, was building a playground nearby.  I signed us up to all help with the build.  Bart got to get dirty and was assigned to mixing and spreading all of the concrete for the playground.
I was assigned to watch all of the kids of the volunteers.
The kids had a ball making bird houses.
 Hula hooping!
After several hours of work, Bart still smiling!
Taya playing with her new friends.
Keeping the kids entertained for hours, as they watched a playground being built was pretty tough.  One of my co-workers grabbed his guitar and sang to them for a while.
 Proud of their finished birdhouse.
 Us girls watching daddy build.
Click on the link below for a glimpse of what it took and how the playground was built.  (There's a shot of the girls painting about 1:20 into the story.)

Dora the Explorer

We took the girls to see Dora live on stage.
 Both kids really enjoyed it.
It was so cute to see Teagan dance to all of the songs.
Both girls say they want to see it again.
